The View. Every spot in Positano has a view, but they are all different. The beach looks up at the town. The terraces look out to sea. The rock platforms offer a panorama of both. Think about what backdrop means most to your partner.
Time of Day. Golden hour in Positano (roughly 6:30–7:30pm in summer, earlier in spring) transforms everything. If possible, time your proposal for this window.
Our Favourite Proposal Spots in Positano
Private villa terraces. Intimate, secluded, with uninterrupted sea views. Perfect for elopement-style proposals with a photographer hidden nearby.
Natural rock platforms. Like the platform at la Scogliera beach club, which offers one of the most breathtaking panoramic views in all of Positano — the full arc of the town, the church, the sea. Dramatic and completely authentic.
Boat proposals. Arriving by private boat or proposing on the water with Positano behind you is unforgettable. The reflection of the town on the sea at sunset is unlike anything else.
Lemon grove settings. For something more intimate and garden-like, a private lemon grove with a small floral setup is deeply romantic and completely private.
Think About the Season
Positano is open year-round, but the experience changes dramatically by season — and so does the planning process.
Spring (March–May): The town is quiet, prices are lower, and the light is soft and beautiful. Many venues and restaurants are still opening up, which means you need a planner with strong local connections to make things happen. The sea can be unpredictable — but that just means you need a good backup plan.
Summer (June–August): Peak season. Everything is open and vibrant, but the town is busy and popular spots will have other tourists nearby. Privacy requires more careful planning.
Autumn (September–October): Our personal favourite for proposals. Warm, golden, quieter than summer, and everything is still fully open. The sea is calm and the light is extraordinary.
Winter (November–February): Deeply romantic and almost entirely private — but requires careful vendor coordination as many businesses close entirely.

Flowers
A floral arrangement transforms any spot into something extraordinary. Even a single arrangement — a half-moon composition along a rock, a small bouquet waiting at a terrace — signals that this moment was planned with love and intention.
Work with a local florist who knows the terrain. In Positano, logistics matter enormously — narrow roads, steep paths, and distance from the main street all affect what is possible.
